How to use public transportation
There are several train companies operating in Osaka including the subway.

Connects most parts of the Kansai area, convenient especially when traveling between cities or long distance.

Run by private railway operators such as Kintetsu, Keihan, Nankai, Hankyu and Hanshin. Convenient when traveling to Kyoto, Kobe, Nara and Wakayama from Osaka.

The Osaka Municipal Transportation Bureau operates 8 subway lines and 1 new tram line, providing the fastest and easiest way to get around Osaka. As Osaka is located in the middle of the Kansai Region, it has been a bustling hub for travel since ancient times. You can reach most of Japan's major cities within an hour by plane.
